Katie's roots

Katie, in one of my first post talked to me about her Italian origins. I promised her to do some research.
I found where the place are situated... Castelletto D'Orba in the North, Naples in the South, Polistena the most southern. My city, Parma, is situated at a latitude near to Castelletto, but toward east.
But I'm here to speak about Katie's origins, not mine... Sorry, I didn't enough researches and now I've got a lot of work to do... I read something about Castelletto d'Orba and decided it's a lovely place, perhaps I could visit it. In this case I'll take tons of pix, you can bet it!
I'll talk a few more about the place one by one in the next future.

Cool. I wish there was a way to zoom in on the map.

I'll work on it... the image is bigger than you see, but don't remember how to link to the original... however, if you download it you'll see it in a better definition!

I opened the image in a new window and that worked. I didn't see Parma on the map, though. Was I just not looking hard enough?

It isn't on the map... sorry... this map is for Katie! However, it is on the street that ties Bologna and Milan, called "Via Emilia". Use your imagination!

I don't DARE use my imagination! I'll not get any work done! I imagine lovely countryside, delightful people, incredible food ...

You're not far from Milan, though, and if I come to Italy that will be my target. So, that's good news.

An hour by car, if there's not traffic. It's the distance between Milan and Parma, on the highway. There's also railroad, that offers at least a train per two hours. Not very far.
Have you seen the course in the right column? I didn't control if the link works well... I hope so.

Wow!! This is great! Thank you so much for doing this for me. It's nice to see these places where they really are instead of just names on paper that don't make any sense to me. I'm surprised by how spread out they are also. Thank you for making the map!! :)

Katie... it was a pleasure to do it. You must know I love to do any kind of research. This is a thing that make me feel good, very good. I need to enlarge what I know about any subject, and suggestions are perfect to give me a direction to follow.
Sometimes it's chaos that guides me... but I prefer that some people cooperates in this great project

Sure, Garrison, I can send it by email. (I'll do this in a few minutes) But I was looking for a way to do a button to download it. Damn! I looked for help, but didn't find a solution.
I'll do some html pages next time! They're more useful, and surfable too. (but it requires a few time! no problem, it's useful to increase my html abilities)

I'll look forward to that email! Getting buttons to work can be really tough for some reason.

Busy weekend planned?

Today I must go and take my Freehand copy, then I'll go out with my best friend Luca, who has moved to Verona but is back (to visit his family and me!).
Tomorrow, I don't know. Perhaps I'll have to buy some presents for a pair of girls. In the late afternoon I'll see my boyfriend. Sunday, with him, too. Will I have a couple of minutes to do exercises with Freehand? Bah.
